BF3 Campaign
If you want to discuss the campaign or need help with something, trophies or whatever, discuss it here. And don't worry about spoilers...if you don't want to know, read no further. I dare ya, lol.

I really liked the other dudes in your squad...Montes in particular. I'm glad they gave them some personality, even if the campaign was pretty much throwaway. Miller was cool too...I liked the dinosaur.
Also, did anyone notice/find the DICE sandcastle?

Uh...so I'm on the last part of night shift where you're supposed to be leaving the mall for the helicopter. Except every time I go to leave the mall, my screen gets completely whited out. I can't see anything at all, except the little blue box and the blood from me inevitably getting killed because I can't fucking see anything. Help?

Are you following right behind your buddy? If you stick with them, you guys get shot to hell. You need to cover their exit from the mall (first in the hallway until they make it to the entrance, then from the front steps as they get to tha choppa), as a few more guys come in on their way out just after you all leave that room. After you take the new guys out (straight down the hall, then on the next floor up), head outside, but don't go further than the mall exit (use the steps and wall as cover, just pop out for a shot or two, then duck back)...they are going to take fire from the right, but just keep them covered and suppress the soldiers coming down the road to the right. After they get on board, haul ass to the bird, diving prone behind cover and crawling if you get hit a few times. That should do it!

Yeah, I know thats what's supposed to happen. But if I so much as look in the direction of the mall exit, my screen gets flooded with white.
It's like this.

Re: BF3 Campaign
This may sound stupid, but you know all those monitors and light sources in the mall? Well, I shot them all out to give myself darkness, since you have the thermal scope...dunno of that would help at all, but...try it, maybe?

Re: BF3 Campaign
Same glitch happened to me. It only happened at that particular part too. I guess some people get lucky and don't have it.

I was too busy raging to consider restarting my PS3.

I didn't restart so much as rage quit for the night and then come back to it this morning.

Re: BF3 Campaign
That's a sensible option, lol.
I was raging so...fucking...hard on that damn Comrades mission. My game glitched out on me and I had the bomb carrier dude right in front of me until we hit the metro station stairs...he ran up there and then literally disappeared. Even though I was right fucking THERE I kept failing the mission. It said that he got away, which was bullshit because I could get to the platform and turn and see him before it failed me. This happened about 25 times. I was ragefaced. The cats were scared.

The more I think about it, the more campaign feels like it borrows heavily from CoD4 and MW2. It uses all the same plot devices and everything.

Re: BF3 Campaign
I totally does...rogue operatives, WMDs, terrorists, Russians, flashbacks, uncontrolled aircraft bits (C130 or F18), crazy chases, that shocking "I can't believe they put that in a game" moment, nuke going off in a large city...it goes on and on.
It's the one area that the COD franchise has always done right...the campaigns in those are awesome.

- Spoiler:
- DICE were a bunch of pussies when it came to that. It would have been cooler if you could actually be Miller watching the blood pour from his neck and then see him get decapitated. DICE really missed a great opportunity.

Re: BF3 Campaign
It didn't happen to me, so I was ok with it. It was actually one of the few missions where I didn't die, lol.

I couldn't stop thinking of Black Ops through the whole campaign, might just be me tho..

Re: BF3 Campaign
I skipped Black Ops, thankfully. COD4 & MW2's campaigns were great fun, but this one, besides being short, was also all old territory. Still, I didn't expect anything less, so I wasn't disappointed. I knew DICE's strong point wasn't narrative. Also, the missions were so constrictive...you HAD to do exactly what they expect you to do or you couldn't move on. It was like "Ok, I'm just going to get this over with", and it took less than a day, lol.

Re: BF3 Campaign
Heh...played the first mission on hard and was getting torn a new one at the bridge sequence by enemies that can shoot me but I can't shoot them. That is one way of making a game's difficulty "hard". Maybe will pick up SP when someone hacks psn to shit again.

Re: BF3 Campaign
Other than some lame trophies, there's no real point in doing it on hard unless you like to feel like you just got gangraped by alligators. I haven't tried it yet, but in BFBC2 you could get the "completed it on hard" trophy just by playing the last level on hard. I should check it and see.

I really enjoyed the campaign. I feel it ended a bit abruptly though.

I think it tells you how the war started and why America and Russia are at war over all it's a ok game.

Stay on slightly on the backside of the stairs. That way they can't shoot you. After a while it will tell you to retreat anyway.
Anyone have any tips for the mall sequence in Operation Guillotine on Hard? I always screw up when I enter the giant atrium area.

Re: BF3 Campaign
I'm not gonna bother getting the other trophies, completed it on normal today and thats all the SP I can handle. Stupid shitty teammates, heavy ass scripting that want's you to do certain things that you need clairvoyancy to figure out without dying, and generally just a piss poor story makes this probably the worst single player experience I've had in a long time.
Seriously, who the fuck play tested the campaign, because it's a mess.

Same people that tested battlelog, co-op and MP. Monkeys with no hands.
