is it just me or when you play BO, does your PS3 sound like its about to implode? it seems like my disc reader is being destroyed when im playing it.

Yeah, it seemed insanely resource intensive...I had my phones on, but before that it was going crazy...running hot, and so much bluray activity...I'm glad they are allowing HDD installs for textures. That seemed to be the biggest culprit, especially when you tear-ass through sections and it pretty much is just constantly streaming info from the disc.

Also bought conibear traps, haven't tried them yet. They look fucking dangerous. Going to build myself a tool to set them. To dangerous by hand and i can build what they sell at the store.

We are 6 ppl getting this plus the possibility of of 3 more. And maybe some that voted no will change there minds.

If we actually decide to stick with BO2 for more than a week before ragequitting and selling it in disgust then yeah...we can have a section for it. With COD though there isn't really much need to discuss strategy or tactics or anything...the game is all reaction speed and twitch gaming... I mean, sure, you can debate best loadouts or camping spots or whatevs, but beyond that, meh.

Old farts like me and Gerbz and stoners will suffer mightily playing this game against the little punkass kids out there, lol.

have you seen the last theater mode? there is nothing on the screen, no HUD. and if you read the fine text it says that Elite people can see their player card thingy on the video plus all of that other stuff.

Well, bandwidth and netcode, but yeah...that MAY be a problem. We'll see on Tuesday I suppose.

Some info highlights from the two hour livestream today:

Patching and game balance - He talked about game balance, and how he can go to his desk at Treyarch, and tweak/change/reabalance anything in the game at any time...so if something lame comes up and is reported or monitored, they can fix it on the fly...he said he could do that globally in six minutes. No waiting months for shit to be patched. For weapon balancing, they log every TTK for every weapon with every possible combination of attachments so that they have a searchable database of info, and when things pop up they can tweak it right away...

Dynamic spawning - they have a system in place that monitors spawn locations and spawns...if you die within three seconds it logs it, and they can dynamically change the preset spawn points, move them a little bit, so that you're not constantly spawning on top of people or getting camped and shit.

Scorestreaks over killstreaks - objective points depending on game modes are worth so much more than kills, which count for nothing, pretty much. Like the hellstorm missile...dude gets six kills with it, each worth 25 points...but cap one point in dom and that's 200...brilliant...no more camping for kills.

Pick 10 build-a-class - you could take perk 1 2 and 3 greed, which allows you to take two perks in that category, so you would have six altogether active ones, BUT you couldn't take any grenades or sidearm or anything...you could take one gun with no attachments. SO...you could have six perks and a ballistic knife...kill someone with it, and pick up their OP stacked primary weapon and be absolutely beast. The trick would be getting that first kill though, lol. Endless possibilities.

Perks and attachments - lots there, but what's important is that there are no perks that change weapon behavior...the attachments do that. So no extra damage from perks, for example. You can customize a gun with two attachments and camo pattern, and you can take the wildcard primary gunfighter, which allows one more on your primary (yes, there is secondary GF too).

Recoil and ballistics - yeah, there is some, but it depends on the weapon types, scopes, zoom level, etc. Not nearly something you have to fight like in BF3. There doesn't seem to be much variation in muzzle velocity though...if you can see someone far away, you shoot them, you hit them pretty much instantly...no need to really lead targets much. You see the bullet travel in the round end killcam, so it IS there, but isn't as apparent in-game.

Everything looks fucking awesome. Not much destruction, except glass, but there is so much cool detail and lighting and little things on the maps that it doesn't matter...it all looks fun and fast paced.

If you do league play, you can stream live directly to YT.

All these promises. I can only hope Treyarch lives up to these promises.

I want to see some Tranzit mode streams. That is the game mode I am most fascinated about.
