today's match was just handed to Spain, they do display one of the best passing teams.
So Spain and Portugal will the great passing game be enough to beat Pepe on the back or will the fast wings from Portugal be the difference against Pique and probably the best GK in the tournament, Casillas?

The English defense was superb, smart and always on top of the action getting rid of many dangerous plays. Italian mid field really making some great plays and pushing up but getting denied by the opposition time and time again.
I think the English striker team was also a bit more dangerous but lacked the midfield to make any real difference most of the time.

Overall Italy did play better so I guess they deserve the win

Terry was immense. No matter how much i utterly despise him i can't fault the effort he put in.
Same with our defense in general. Cole is one of the best left backs in the world. Has been for some time. Again, i utterly despise him but you can't fault his non stop movement and he always tracks back. Even if it isn't his problem.

Our midfield is a shambles though. As you said Dan. Absolutely no linking play whatsoever. Young should have gone off for Walcott, not Milner but it's not like it would have made much of a difference.

Remember Scholes? THAT'S the kinda guy we need spearheading out midfield. Gerrard just behind. We need to find that Scholes soon though coz Lampard won't make another tourny. Probably not Gerrard either as it goes...

Carrol done ok. Tried his best with what little service he got. He looks very sharp so hopefully that carries on into next season with Liverpool.

Rooney looks like he does at the end of every season....knackered lol. Poor cunt was running around with no purpose at all. Couple of opportunities but really not the type of service he gets @ club level.

Roy done a good job with an average and aging squad. Maybe now this is over he can start to work on the younger guys and try to build a new England era.

I think Portugal is going to teh what France did for about five minutes, but do it the whole game...come at Spain hard, attack, and try to deny them possession. In the end it may come down to one mistake or missed opportunity. Spain 3-1, because they will punish them on the counter, but it will be much closer than the scoreline shows.

Germany/Italy...should be a classic game, maybe the best one so far. Not classic in the sense of the way they used to play though, I mean a game to remember. Germany will finally get out of second gear, Italy will be fierce...3-2 Germany.

Good game for both teams.

I think Portugal was good at exposing Spain's lack of quality up front. There is no denying that Spain has the best passing game of any team but there's something missing.

The 1st half had a few great opportunities, and better quality ones for Spain who took advantage of their passing. I think the second half was Portugal's. They created a lof of pressure and kept Spain on their toes.
That's why I was surprised to see Portugal do shit the overtime. Spain came out of nowhere with no subs and took possession of the ball. Had the game lasted another 20mins and Spain would have sinked one in. I still think it was a very close match, though a bit slower paced then anyone would probably expect.

I'd just like to point out how great the ref team was, I really enjoyed watching this guy keep his cool and try to make everyone happy. In addition I'd like to say that first free kick on the first half was completely bull, as usual Ronaldo should get a Grammy. Nani is learning too many things from Ronald and can be a little bitch too. Faking your way to a foul will not get my support I don't care who you play for.

It will be Germany and Spain and I am not sure who will win. For one Spain has their passing game but as you saw today they couldn't really make much of it against a solid defense. Sure they created a few good plays but they couldn't finish any. On the other hand you have a very fast paced team with good crossing players, Germany. Though I have to admit I don't think Germany is the team to go the overtime, they always seem a lot slower the second halves they play.

Pretty sure Portugal can take Italy though.
